Hi all,
I bought a 2.2 DTi Elite saloon thinking that, as Bose wasn't standard on this diesel model, that the first owner probably didn't specify it. However, now I've picked the car up, listened to the stereo and seen that the MID comes up with 'BOSE' before it starts playing music, perhaps I do have this system installed. The rear speakers are Bose branded.
I cannot find the amp that would confirm it as I don't really know where to look.
Can someone tell me where to look, please?
Thanks.

Open your boot, put head in & look up. ;D It should be on the underside of the rear parcel shelf in a plastic cover. :y
-
and you should have parcel shelf speakers with "bose" on :y
I dont have, but i want

The headunit has Bose in small lettering on it as well ;)
-
and the sound itself should be pretty good :D
-
Elites (98 on) have bose as standard.

I saw on Wisebuyers spec checker that the diesel Elite didn't have Bose as standard, so I assumed mine wouldn't.
I looked under the parcel shelf and there's a large plastic case with what must be the amp within.
-
that'll be the first aid box ;D
only jokin :D

They are wrong. You have bose (unless previous owner ripped it out).
That is indeed the amp...

I didn't actually take any notice of the sound system in my 2002 MV6 (and its 200 miles away so I can't have a peek) - did they just have standard stereos?

only elite spec had bose as standard - no other trim levels, including MV6, had it. I don't think it was even an option to have it fitted if not standard?

Ah well. Cheers mate. :)
*puts it on his list of things to Ebay*

Facelift MV6 is similar spec to CD, and hence has the CDR2005 single slot cd player.....

Mine's got a CCR2006. Could have been an optional extra I guess :-/

Yes. Seems a few (both MV6 and CD) came with 2006 which was normally reserved for CDX/Elite. But CDR2005 was the most common and the one on the spec sheet.

Mine's got the CCR 2006. Not that I need that, with the V6 soundtrack... (yes, I'm in love with it already)
