Hi all,
I bought a USB/ CD stereo for my previous car and enjoyed having lots of albums on MP3 on a convenient memory stick, especially on random play. Now I've got the Omega, having 4 CDs and therefore a case of CDRs is somewhat poorer a solution.
As it seems a faff to replace the CCR2006 double DIN changer and stereo with a USB/SD one, and also it ruins the standard look of the car, I've been interested in finding a good alternative.
Maplin seem to have just the product:

It is a tape cassette with an SD card slot and a small wired remote control panel to switch between tracks.
I haven't bought this yet but thought others on here might be interested. Any comments on the product much appreciated.

new to me but a damn good idea in my opinion, my 20GB mp3 player of about 6 years finally died at the beginning of last month, which is good since it was drowned about 3 years ago in lucozade sport!
i had a small playlist on it which was handy, and it was connected to my corsa stereo at the time through a tape adapter like that one
the only problem with these is they're not that easy to come by that actually give a decent sound quality, my bro bought one from argos (without card slot) that was really crap, but one i bought off ebay was fantastic, even though my brother bought it off me and lost it!
I plan to get an elite, with the cassette and disc changer and this tape adapter with card slot would be a good investment.... if it was maybe a tenner cheaper!! :y
SD and Micro SD cards are becoming dirt cheap too
