You may recall I have coolant loss from the K series Rover, and a monumental coolant leak from the MV6.
Now, I have done nothing of consequence to fix these, other than try to investigate location/cause.
Both appear to have stopped leaking completely.
:-/

Has the radweld fairy been to visit?

Nope. As said, I've done nothing of consequence.

Have you disconnected then reconnected any pipework? :-/

Wasnt meaning you!
No way does that description fit!
Maybe 'she' wants attention instead of the cars so has taken matters into her own hands ;D

Rather weird :-?

Well metal does contract when cold, making that core plug weep more than normal :-?
-
On the MV6 it could be your HBV, mine has a def leak, BUT only does it when the climate control is set below 21!
After about 10 mins it throws water everywhere, turn it to hot, or turn it off and it wont use a drop of water for thousands of miles stick it on anything below 21 and itll go through 2ltrs of water in 60 miles!!
Not sure if its also linked to my air con not working due to the 'top up' valve leaking
Just my 2p worth

If you had leaks, did nothing and the leaks stop.....they will return :(

I agree. But odd how both cars have stopped leaking together. I don't understand...

Mind you if you CAN fix cars by simply looking at them.....the mechanical messiah.....you could make a lot of money ;D
You know what to do, top em up, run em and check daily.... ;)

We've been doing that all week, and its not gone down much (Rover also has rad leak, but waiting for a brand new rad to turn up at her work ;))

Perhaps a bit of an off the wall answer but, did you use good clean water to top up with or some of the crummy lime riddled stuff thats available in some places down south? Could be the limescale has clogged a leak?

It always has the finest that Anglian Water supply - ie, full of chemicals and other rubbish.
-
Was it leaking all the time?
All my coolant leaks have been when the engine has just been turned off......then stop as the engine cools.
Strange behaviour.....the only thing i can think of is the coolant temp rises briefly after turning off and therefore has an increase in pressure briefly...my current coolant leak from the rad is doing this.

when mine was leaking, it leaked far more on small trips, could only do 2-3 few miler's before needing to refil, could also do 100 odd miles before refil on one long trip
