Hi
Have a S plate 2.5 Elite. The light on the key fob comes on when pressed but will not lock / unlock the car (have tried new battery, no difference). Have to lock car with Key (which is ok unitl I come to unlock it, when alarm goes off untill engine is started).
Read somewhere that this fault could be due to fractured leg on battery connection but could find no more info on it.
Can any one help shed any light on this?
Happy new year.

i would have expected if the battery leg was fractured that you wouldnt see any light on the key fob at all.

if the light is coming on, on the key fob I would think that the battery contacts are OK.
Try synchronising it with the car. Insert key, turn on ignition and then press one or other of the buttons on the fob (can't remember which it's supposed to be :-/ - but there are only 2 of them! ;D)
The doors should now lock/unlock & be synchronised.

Could be poor connections, but try resync first as suggested.
Presumably it did work once?

Excellent
you guys are geniuses thank you. :y
Interstingly only the nearside indicators flash when the car locks and unlocks even though all the indicators work. Does this mean anything?
