Title: Electric Seat Problem
Post by: Ian_D on 15 January 2008, 10:49:31
The driver’s seat on my Elite won’t move all the way forwards. It goes all the way back, and then only about 2" forwards, it’s not much of a problem for me, but it would be nice to have it working properly.

Anyone got any ideas?

I’ve checked that there’s nothing fallen into the rails (like coin etc) and can't see anything. :-/

Had the same problem on the passenger seat of mine, it was fixed by using the manual winding tool and helping it a little (well mm by mm), once done it was fine.

Was down to lack of use.

its actually called the "Emergancy Winding Handle"  ;D ;D

It should be in the kit in your boot, its a tiny metal pole, with an L shape at the end and a sqaure end.

Use that to manually turn the motor... it takes a LOT of turns to move the seat, and it goes very sloooooowly.... but do that all the way back and forward and that should free it up  :y

Had a quick look, but the tool isn't there  :-[

I should have some square screwdriver bits somewhere which will fit, so will try that tomorrow (if it stops raining)
