4 disc changer in a 1999 car? Or is it a facelift?
If radio is CCR2006, then it needs repair. If its a CCR600/800 then it needs the CD code entering

Its a v reg facelift model. If it needs a code do you know how I type it in?
Regards

Ah, its facelift (so 2000 model). CCR2006 saying CD Safe needs servicing I'm afraid :'( - its a fairly common fault, not sure how they fix it, but I guess its some recoding going on between radio and CD (they are actaully seperate units inside)

No worries, I can fix that one for you

You need to enter your CD Code (different from radio code)

Incorrect ! But has been answered previously in this thread

and if you give details of the Radio fitted and not the car, I can probably help you further
-
Actually it may well just need the code...
On the pre-facelift models they had a code for the headunit (CCR600, CCRT700) and a seperate code for the cd changer (Blaupunkt CDC2).
Why they had seperate codes for each I am not sure, but it would be the first course of action (remember, always start fault finding with the obvious :) )

Mine is doing exactly the same and the small door that covers the cd magazine is broken so it wont eject. A small piece has broken off which I have.
Can this be fixed at the same time as I want to get the stereo working again.
Sharpey.

Unfortunately, I no longer have any more doors, and since Philips / spares are no more, I am unable to locate a new bit for you. Best bet would be to find a scrap unit to cannibalise.
Maybe somebody else out the in Omegaland may be able to source these rare parts?

I assure you I am absolutely correct. No prefacelift comes with an integrated-into-hu cd changer, they come with CDC2 which has its one code.

No disagreement with that one my friend, you are absolutely correct
But thats not what the picture of the facelift version showed !!
I think the problem here is one of confusion in the forum over two different types of head units. Two head units, two different methods to solve the problem, but a common error message of CDC SAFE
