hi
we just got our meega and its got a crappy cassette/radio in it. The car its replacing, a kia has a sony cd player which was put in by previous owner and we would like this in the omega
So is this even possible?
the main issue i can think of is that the current original radio has its actual radio station displayed on the screen thingy next to the instruemtn cluster.
I dont think that the sony one will work on the screen as there isnt one on the kia so is it necasery to find someway of linking them together?
Also will it be compatible with the speakers etc.
Another thing, if we could somehow install the omega orignal cassette player in our kia it might help us sell it since the rest of that car is god awfull. Dont really think that this is a possibility but hey.
a bit of an aside but i have no idea where the ariel is lol. Its a 1994 diesel estate.
Thanks in advance, alex

depends if your crappy sony has a 'display adapter' option...

There was a Vauxhall display adaptor many years ago for all Sony`s with a CD changer output - trouble was it cost around £150 and was deleted just about as fast as it was launched.

Connects2 DOPS002 or 004 for prefacelift
Try Ebay

The Connects2 one is going to be significatly cheaper than the Genuine Sony one that I was on about

its not a cd changer, just 1 cd, but never really mattered since it plays mp3's
so im gonna need an adaptor for it to work on the screen?
but is it possible for it to work on its own screen and not be connect to the omega one?

Yes, being a standard aftermarket unit it will have its own display so worry not about that.
Also the improvement in sound quality over the CAR300 that is fitted will be quite noticeable! :)
If you want a step by step guide on how to switch them over, just ask.
