Silly question...
I think the coolant level sensor is playing up on my V6, I would of though the sensor would be on the header tank but I can't see it, am I looking in the wrong place ?

its underneath the header tank

its underneath the header tank
ah, I'll give it a look in the morning
Thanks :)
What it's doing is every so often it will flash up "Check Coolant level" this stays on for about 2 mins then clears its self, only done it 3 times in the last 500 miles, but the coolant level is as it should, would this point to a dodgy sensore or some think else to look at ?

there is a float sensor in the tank, make sure that moves ok.
There is a metal clip on the outside edge of the tank, take that off. (with a flat end screwdriver)
Then just slide the tank out... don't pull it too far as there is a leccy connector underneath.

i assume the level in the tank stays the same, you never had to top it up?

No, it's been as it should, though going to drop it tomorrow and stick some anti fresh anti freeze in, service history is all nice but I prefere to know it's been done if you follow my drift, same with the cam belt, Thats next weekend's mission

could not agree more. Keep anti-freeze in there all year around. Nice 50/50 mix.
Make sure you change the tensioners along with the cam belt, and do the waterpump at the same time :y

Need to test if my repair method has worked next time I drop coolant from tractor.

Need to test if my repair method has worked .....
Which was ..... ? :-? :y
I soaked mine in a slightly caustic solution , which helped a lot in keeping the display happy. I replaced the tank in the end when I swapped to red anti-freeze cos it looked a lot nicer. ;) :y :y
