Title: Keyfob switches - sourcing new ones
Post by: Martin_1962 on 05 February 2008, 19:53:04
Does anyone know where I can buy some suitable new switches from?

Megamos appears to be a French component resellers. RS have none suitable nor do Maplins

Thanks

Have you tried CPC / Farnell. I have an account with them if you don't want to register.

Yes, will post part numbers tomorrow......plenty of alternatives to RS (Rippoff Spares) and Maplins (Former electronic components supplier who now specialise in tack).

Maplins really piss me off - they used to be a decent(ish) components supplier for the enthusiast.  Now they are a similar to 'Innovations' and sell junk :(

And will probably go the same way as Tandys when they wanted to become a computer component supplier

Due to be fitted once I can lay my hands on an Expansion valve thanks.

Ok.

Rapid Electronics is worth a look.

The switch size is 6mm x 3.7mm x 3.1mm button profile.

Looking at the PCB you should be able to squeeze a 6 x 6  x 3.1mm switch on (these are better quality) and it should just clear the Battery though hole connection.
