Title: What sound system
Post by: Pilly on 05 February 2008, 14:05:30
What stereo is my 2001 Omega elite going to have in it, is there a standard fit for an Omega of this year? I am picking the car up tomorrow.

if it's been left standard, it'll have the bose sound system, meaning bose parcel shelf speakers and an amp in the boot, mine has 4 disc changer with satnav so it has the NCDC2013 head unit, yours might be different if it's the 4 disc changer with tape player

For 2001 models.....

The 3.2 Elite came with either a ncdc2013 or ncdc2015 - both do not have cassette tape facilities but have a single cd slot on the top for sat nav disc (although it does play a normal cd too).   They have a four disc autochanger on the bottom - as BOSE.

The 2.5TD and 2.5 V6 Elite came with a CCR2006 which includes tape and four disc magazine but without the sat nav slot.  This also had BOSE!   ;)

My understanding is that Bose was an option on Elites rather than standard, so may not be bose but using the Head Units Amps and crossovered Speakers.

Correct, on all Elites, either 2.5/6 or 3.0/2 Bose was standard.

Optional extra on all other models

EDIT - Should add that pre 1998, Elites had a Philips 8 speaker system
