Title: plastic dome

hi all,please can any one help??,
on the sun roof control panel there is a black plastic dome a bit like cctv camara,i have picture but dont know how to put in this post,

Could be a microphone for a hands free kit ??

My cark91 has a mic up there, not dome shaped though .. :(

I think it's the infra red receiver for the remote fob. Only on the earlier cars as they switched to RF based remotes later on.

Sounds like an Infra Red receiver? Central locking?

I`m sure that  the wise ones will be able to elaborate on this if I am right   :-/
