when i put the face plate on the stereo (jvc) the mid turns on and shows f in the left corner and c in the right. With the car being new to me i've only just noticed that the m.i.d doesn't display the out side temp at all, has anyone come across this before

Hi, it will show the outside temp automatically when the temp drops below 3deg centigrade. You can also get it to display the temp by scrolling the info using the bottom(I think) button on the end of the right hand stalk on the steering column.

there isn't a temp read out on the display at-all even when i use the stalk thingy just f n c .

Sounds like you have a faulty sensor, one of the electrical geniuses should be along shortly to give some advice on what to do next.

not got a clue tbh, i'll probably end up at the dealers with it

If you are ever round the Widnes area I can recommend Andy Stockton at www.asautocare.co.uk he is an independant Vauxhall specialist.

up date the f in the left corner stands for fault c in the right corner celcius but their should be an auto check system as well engine oil, coolent, atf, etc and that isn't being shown chap who looked at it today seems to think it has something to do with the after market stereo that's fitted so its back to the drawing board >:( >:( >:(

FYI, bought one today for the father in law
Part no : 9152245, £7.85 retail, £5.89 trade club, both plus vat
