:(now then chaps heres the problem,
mission was to replace heat element on drivers seat.
to make sure the replacement was ok, i unplugged the harness at door sill connection and checked for feed with a multimeter.
with ignition on and tried at switch,all ok(swich on -feed,off-no feed).
turned ignition off an repeated check this was as it should be no pwer.
after turning ignition back on NOTHING no power at feed or at swiches either!!!! :(. checked all fuses inc engine bay but found none had blown.any ideas as to what i have done PLEASE :'(

Sorry you have had no response -- I am not the one to help as I know NOTHING about this -- however .... why were you replacing the element in the first place ?
If said element was simply not working (with no signs of damage) sounds like there is an intermittent fault with the wiring / switching -- in which case, all I can offer is that it wasn't soemthing that YOU have done during your testing procedure -- but an existing wiring fault.

ps, only checked wiring to make sure of no nasty surprises before replacing heating pad, and got one :'(!!!!!!!!!!!

alrite fella no worries ! dont like messing with electrics mesen causes too much damage when things go wrong !! ;D ;D

If leather, the pad is sewn in to leather iirc, so sod all you can do.
If cloth, you have to remove the upholstery to replace pads. Removal is easy, refitting is more challenging. Might well be one of those jobs best left to a car upholstery repairer?

a bit defeatist there Jamie! ;) There might be an obvious sorch mark & burnt bit of element that can cut out & re-joined to the loom .... just like my Senator & Omega :y
