Title: CCR800 & CDC2 - will it fit in my GLS?
Post by: DaveyDavey on 19 May 2008, 16:29:52
Right, a very kind soul on here sold me the above a few weeks ago as I was thinking about upgrading the cassette player in the car to something a touch more modern. Could have sworn it was a ccr600, but that just serves me right for being to eager  ::)

Anyway, I'm now starting to doubt whether it will actually work if I do ever get it plugged in there since the ccr800 comes out of an Elite and they have the Bose system.

Perhaps it's just me being a simpleton, but I thought that it would be relatively easy to swap the current cassette player for the new headunit and then find somewhere to tuck the cdc.

So, will it fit into my GLS and more importantly will it actually play anything through the speakers??

depends on what head unit you have in there at the min fella and for the ccr800 you will need amp loom and speakers they are a lower ohmage :(

CCR800 not a direct replacement for CAR400 fitted to GLS - you need the amp and speakers.

CCR600 is, though you may be missing CD Changer loom.

Hmmmm  :-/

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to source myself a CDR500 then.

Time to see what's on fleabay then.

Thanks for the help chaps  :)
