Title: Fitting bose ccr800 to sc804  pinout.
Post by: osealy on 23 June 2008, 16:08:44
I have a complete bose system from 98elite. I was hoping to fit it to my 97elite. The ccr800 works fine I can decode it on the mid, but once it's decoded the display is blank (no station names etc). I guess it wont work with the old philips changer.
So I think I might just fit the amp & speakers & sub.
Any one got Pin outs for the amp or do I have to sort it out by trial & error.
Has anyone done this swap ,or is it not worth the trouble?

For the bose amp in a prefacelift, you need ccr800 or ccrt700 (programmed to bose).

Its possible to flick ccr800 between 8 and 10 digit mid (ign on, then switch on radio whilst holding 2 and 4 toggles it).

Cannot use anything but cdc2 (for ccr600 or ccr800, not the one for ccrt700) with ccr800

Thanks for that will try tomorrow.
Have cdc2 , don't suppose plug is same as old philips changer (cdo12?)

And will that toggle trick give me my station display?

Certainly should - generally, if any of the Vauxhall radios are incorrectly configured for 8 or 10 digit display, the code entry appears normal, and then the display will either freeze or dissapear.

Yeah, after I decoded it the display dissapeared. ccr800 sounded almost as loud as sc804, but that is why I need an upgrade as 804 is fine at lo vol but sounds terrible if i turn it up.
Didn't want to just add a sub as I tried that at home ,JBL sub on top of spendors ,waste of time.

the bose system isnt that loud !

the amp pin outs are easy they are all 2 wire twisted pairs the 4x black leads are the inputs and then theres 6 twisted pairs all different colors which should corespond with the cars speaker wiring

then there is the amp power need to run a fuse from the fuseboard for this ill have to check when i pop for a ciggy what color the power wires are

I could not get the display to come on, even though I've managed to disable the code. Turn on while holding 2 & 4. I have 8 digit display.

Re the amp Thick brown & red for power with red/wht for switching?

The four black leads match the twisted pairs. But two sets of pairs are the same. Wht/brn  grn/brn same as sub?
Are blu pair & yello pair fronts.
I presume there is a low pass filter to drive the sub.

When it says 8 digit on the display, I`m fairly sure on the CCR800 that you have to press another nbutton to toggle between 8 and 10 digit - worth having a play with that one as I can`t remember which button it is

Getting somewhere. 1 & 3 toggle IGN.  4 & 6 Toggle display.
Now I just have to sort out the six speaker outs on the amp.
