Just realised I don't want to disconnect my battery, cos I have no code for my head unit and CDC - what can I do? :-[
-
get a carpass
-
hang on, ncdc radio isn't it? Doesn't need a code.

Yes I'm pretty sure it is...!

Satnav, drives a half height GID or full height CID? If so, no code needed.
-
NCDC radio should retain the data from the vehicle allowing the battery to be disconnected / reconnected without the need for any codes
-
The 98 elite I just bought doesnt have the head unit and CDC codes with it...and the cd player code looks like its not been entered when battery last removed...how would I go about getting a car pass and how much are they? Or can I get the codes from somewhere else?
-
mine didnt require coding when my battery was dead James, it should be fine

To save all this endless guessing - what head unit is fitted?

Bose CCR800

To save all this endless guessing - what head unit is fitted?
If it helps, for Omegas, generally:

1998
CAR400
CDR500
CCR600 with multichanger
CCR800 with multichanger and bose amp
1999
CAR400
CDR500
CCRT700 with multichanger and optionally bose amp
2000 on
CAR2004 (rare, not seen many fitted to Omega)
CDR2005
CCR2006 optionally with bose amp
NCDC201x optionally with bose amp

Thats a good start, but what should be fitted may be different to what is actually fitted. We are all trying to second guess here, without the details from the guy who has the stereo in front of him. Some of the stereos mentioned need codes, some do not.
With an actual model number, we could all assist with a far more accurate response.

Dunno about the initial poster but I need codes for a CCR800 and relevant CDC...I'm sure it will need the codes when disconnected?? :)
