Title: CCR 2006 DECODE
Post by: DaveBrunel on 07 August 2008, 22:59:25
Anybody know of someone who can decode a CCR 2006 radio in the Maidenhead / Slough, Berkshire area?

My Vx carpass code which I paid for does not work/wrong code, after battery went flat, need it sorted before going on France Spain driving hols,
or I will have no sounds :-[.
This means I will have to make pleasant conversation with wife and two daughters for 14 days, so **PLEASE HELP URGENT**.
Dave, the forum Vx ICE man, was very helpful but too far away!

Just remember that not all stereos can be reset if you use up all the code attempts with wrong numbers !

Happy ending to this topic - I got hold of a manager at Vx and we realised that when they got me a new car pass, nobody actually removed the radio to get the seial number. So, one of their technicians took out the unit, got the serial number, phoned Vx for the correct radio code, they were not willing to give the code over the phone but with a little persuasion they gave it, I entered it and Hey Presto, I got me sounds again. Obviously a previous owner swapped the factory fitted radio for a different unit at some time in the past.

For anyone in the same position, even when trying to enter the code when you are on SAFE 6, it is only a 15 minute wait if you:
turn ignition to position 2, hold AS, power up radio, turn ignition back to position 1.

Sorted.
