Title: Weak battery, possibly.
Post by: Omegadoha, Desert Member on 07 September 2008, 16:59:52
What are the signs of a weak battery?

On mine when I turn the ignition the needles move down slightly and then back up. Is this a sign that the battery might be going?

Has it always done it, or has it only just started doing it..or have you only just noticed it?!

Cars with electronic dash's usually do a self test on power up - some go to max rpm and speed (which looks funky..).

Voltage check is a good starting point - with everything off, you're looking for about 12.6-12.8V (fully charged) from memory - someone else will pipe up with the proper values!

Its normal for the dash on omegas to jump when you put the ignition on!

Yes, a good batt will be above 12.6.

Mines at 11.9 at the moment due to me attempting to fit a car pc inside it :-/ Its on charge (going to leave it for an hr) and hope she starts in the morning!
