I've recently changed my head unit to a kenwood all singing all dancing unit and made the wireing so it all runs off the head units amp, although im told that the bose speakers in the car run @ 2 ohms so this will result in damage to the head unit and to be honest, i never thought the bose was all that great in the car anyway so ive now removed all the speakers/amp etc.
What about the tweeters, the sticker on the bak just says "GM", is this a Bose product also running at 2ohms, should I change these aswell or will these be ok to leave in ?

As above tweeters are 4 ohms, so no probs there.

If you are replacing with OEM speakers, then leave the tweeters in there, they will be fine, however, if upgrading the speakers (as you really ought to) then why not go for a component set and replace the tweeters as well?

I will most probably get rid of the tweeters as well then, this whole thing has been one long saga, in case anyone wants the story
1 Brought the car with the CD player non funtional (did not want to pay £150 for a vx referbished replacement that dnt even play mp3s
2.Went to fit aftermarket head unit, (found these forums :)) and found out it was because of the old bose setup
3.Got someone to rearrange wiring and fit aftermarket head unit
4.Wanted steering controls so brought an adapter, those didnt work, told for newer generation pioneer headunits i needed the sony adapter no the poineer one, steering controls kind of worked and some didnt
5.God fed up, took headunit back and steering controls and purchased a kenwood system, all now working ok
6.Then told old bose speakers running at 2 ohms so would need to change to prevent any further damage (which is true because at high volumes all the lights in the car would "faintly" beat to the music ;p
7.Found rear blind guide and door car removal guide and removed entire bose setup
The old bose setup is for sale if anyone is interested BTW, or if its worth nothing, ill put it in a box and put it in the loft
