Title: The Mig Started.
Post by: Vamps on 10 February 2008, 21:47:27
This Omega was bought, in September,  to replace our old one for swmbo, unfortunately it had a few problems and  sat on the drive, just doing the odd Tip Run till end October when the Tax ran out, now sorn. All that bad weather, snow wind and cold.   :(
Meanwhile swmbo is still running around in my old Galant V6 24v and it may prove difficult getting her out of it.  :( :(
This was all before I found oof, never realised how much value was in the old one. :'( :'( :'(
Anyway, I digress, put a battery charger on for a couple of hours today and decided to turn the key, fired up straight away, well impressed. ;D ;D ;D
Lovely clean car; 1998 66,600 and everything, except for a shiny steering wheel, suggests the mileage to be genuine, even MOT’s if this was clocked it was done so at a very early age.
I will go into details on it’s problems in the help section as these treads seem to often go off subject, in my experience.  :) :) :)

a mate of mine is a traffic cop he swears by omegas
(sometimes at them) reckons to have walked away from one or two situations that he might not have done in another make of car

They are solid and generaly reliable, had our previous one for 7 years, just needed usual service bits etc, sold it cheap though with a 2 year old cat and 4 new tyres, silly boy :'(

i seem to remember a few car manufacturers not entirely agreeing with how the tests were carried out

There excellent actualy......particularly when the side airbags were added and given the age of the design.

Dont know what you were looking at?

You also have to rememeber that the different classes are there for a reason so a super mini with 5 stars wont be any where near as good as a family saloon with 3 stars!
