Title: Immobilser, central locking problem.
Post by: gbuk on 29 September 2008, 23:13:31
Righto, here goes the current problem on a friends omega.

Car in question is a 1994 GLS Manual. Believe this make it an Omega A pre facelift? Is that right?

From a pic of the keys can you tell what type of system it is?

Think it's the RF one but would like to confirm, it has light on key when you press button.

The problem is the whole shebang has stopped working, It wont unlock the car and the immobilser has become active.
Have read a few threads but there seems a few variations on the alarm/immobilser/cl thing which i have never had to deal with on a vaux before.
Was hoping it's just a key in press button job etc to 're-match' it up but apparently this isn't happening (not been over to see car yet)

On this year of omega did it have a chip in the fob for the immobilser or is it controlled by the alarm ecu?
How exactly does it work? Maybe i'm looking at two problems here i'm not sure  :-/ :(

Its the very early infra red setup (the lower key is a remote, the upper is not).

You have PM.
