Although I'm far from an electrickery expert .....
Does the radio work if you switch it on at the unit rather than just turning the key to auxillary? Lizzy Z had problems the other day with the display staying on too - iffy ignition switch may be???  :-/

Fuse? There's usually another 3A(?) in the back of the unit, or there is in the old style single DIN set up stereos.
Other than that I have run out of ideas.  :-[  :y

you need some of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Corsa-Astra-Mk-5-Radio-Removal-Keys-Tools-NEW_W0QQitemZ370094243342QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item370094243342&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)
you should be able to get them from a motor factor

or small Allen keys.
The advantage of using the proper tools is that there's an indent at the ends of the wires that hold onto the sides of the radio, so that you only need to pull the removal tools rather than pulling on the face of the radio somewhere, which can result in the front of the radio parting company from the main body.  :-?  :'(

lol! yeah, wouldnt suprise me if the front face came away from the body.
i took a yaris cd player out-i got a cd stuck in it so took it apart.
was a right mission to get the front face off!

Do you have traffic master fitted?

If so then find it (above the drivers foot well) and unplug it to rule it out.

Not uncommon to have a few firmware faults on the Omega head units, and most wierd glitches are often cured (or at least reset) by removing the power for half an hour and plugging back in.
