I aquired an amp by them earlier this year - not great quality but it works. Never heard of them before, who are they?
65w per channel.
I would like an Alpine - but needs must.
Sounds better than standard and can drive my Infinitys without struggling.

mac audio iirc are an american brand, that do some mediocre stuff and also do some real top of the range gear too
-
Not sure about American ?
We sold a lot of MAC-Audio stuff in the mid nineties and that all came from a German importer (still made in the far east I`d imagine)
It certainly sounded German/European in quality and was fairly well made with no real problems. Poor distribution and brand awareness meant that it never really caught on in the UK.
Shame, I liked the stuff at the time.

I used to work for them, well I worked for the parent company Recoton.
Recoton went bust and I beleive the Mac audio company was bought out by the Mac Audio managment at the time?
-
Have we met before?
My Company used to do a lot of Warranty Work for Recoton !!
I`ve met most of you over the years
:y

I worked for Recoton between 1986 and 2001 as one of their Technical Managers so we may have spoken before, although I was more involved with the Videogame side of the company (the fun bit :D)
I was based in the main Manchester office/warehouse, trying to think of the guy that ran the car audio side, Steve somebody, based in Waterlooville I think?
-
You mean Steve Fryer ? (waterlooville)
If you ran the Video Game side, then you may well be aware of us, as we were the Car Audio Company in Stevenage that also had quite a large amusement arcade operating as our waiting room !!
8-)

Thats the guy, Steve Fryer !!
No I was mainly Playstation and Nintendo I am afraid, never actually managed to do much travelling down south, they kept me chained to my desk till I found another job with better money !! ;D
