When I switch my rear screen heater on my radio signal cuts out, not got standard radio but a Kenwood head unit, i'm thinking a live feed is missing to aerial amp, if that's the case what colour is the wire at radio end

Red and white, IIRC. Pin 7 of the connector. Just connect it to the power aerial / amp output on the head unit.
