Title: radio & HRW reception

I know .... I know .... it's been mentioned on here loads of times but I've looked & can't find.  :-[
I've just experienced cr4ppy Radio 2 reception with the heated rear window turned on. Perfect without.
It'd been perfect earlier in the journey with the HRW on, untill I got to the town centre where obvioulsy there are more taller buildings.
What's failed, the amplifier on the rear parcel shelf?

Either the amp has failed on the shelf, or more commonly, the elements that go round the screen acting as an aerial have probably degraded due to UV light which is more often the case.

Find teh two wires where the screen element join to the amp, and see if you get any reception by connecting a loose wire across ths point, if so, a length of cable under the parcel shelf can often be a good compromise !

Thanks for that Dave. I'll have a look if there's any light left tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work.
This is the first time I've ever had problems like that with radio reception.

I disagree.....every time I have seen this issue its been due to a poor connection or 0V chassis point on the heated rear window.

With the with the heater on it raises the OV end of the elements (due to the resistance of the connections) and causes reception issues.

I have seen that as well -

Either should be easily identifiable and correctable though   :y
