Hi all
I am wanting to change the standard double din stereo unit in my CDX and put in a double din one with screen, sat nav, bluetooth etc (like the Kenwood 5220) but just wondered if there where any complications with fitting.
Does anyone know if all double din stereos will fit and can anyone suggest the best ones. My budget is as cheap as possible cos skint, so any advise would help. I have seen some on flebay at £299 which seem a bargain, but think are unbranded so a little cautious!! :o
Cheers

Jay W has done this recently, and very nice it looks too. I'm sure he'll be along with the answers.
Oh, and welcome to the Forum Dennis. :y

Dennis, the Kenwood is a great choice, but be mindfull the 5220 needs additional modules such as the satnav receiver and the BT module in order to get those bits to work.
Make sure you look at the 5220BT as this has the satnav and the BT all built in. (satnav supplied by Garmin, and the BT handsfree is Parrott so i'm led to believe.)

the sat nav units that are standard in some omegas are the Siemens NCDC 2013 and 2015 if that helps
2015 has sim card slot for phone :y

Thanks for the info so far.....and yeah meant to say hi to all too!!
As well as a double din unit would I need one of these (CT23VX02A) to make sure it fits ok??

All adds to the cost but want to make sure its fits into the dash
Cheers!

I think, with aftermarket double din, you need a new surround bit due to odd shape of Omega radios.

Ebay + unbranded = don't touch with a 10 foot bargepole, honest mate.
Some can appear identical to branded but with substandard parts, others are just awful full stop.
That said, if your experience is different, great!
Adaptor definitely needed to modify radio slot to fit standard double din - ebay often a good sorce for these but quality varies a lot - check feedback! Also a number of different colours available so pick one that matches/contrasts how you want.
Then fit and post piccies! ;D

I am currently looking and just put a new thread on as I didn't see this first!! :-[
I am looking at Pioneer but the Kenwood you mentioned looks nice but I can't find it for £299 even on ebay they are all £500+

i have the DNX5220 with all the additional modules on it, cost without the steering wheel controls and fascia plate was about £650.....
yes it is a lot of case but it is very good indeed, it was easy to fit, dead easy to set up and is customisable in so many ways
we travelled down to the south of france, we had an additional 2 TV's rigged up in the back and the head unit was running them playing a DVD with the sound coming out of the rear speakers only, we have music in the front from the Ipod running through it and the sat nav was on all the way as well, it dealt with it all in its stride

Looks pretty good, but I have spent too much money this last month :-[
