Title: Can You Replace a CCR600 With a CCR800...
Post by: MutantCav on 05 December 2008, 21:59:18
without having to upgrade the rest of the system, will the CCR800 work in standard mode, or will it send out a 2 Ohm signal and blow the standard speakers? Also would it need the Amp fitting or just straight swap the head units over and jobs a goodun??  ::)

Wont it have a Bose amp as CCR800 is a bose headunit?? So you could take out the CCR600 and just put a CCR800 in its place with no other changes needed?

ccr600 and ccr800 are identical, except ccr600 has amp built in, and thus needs to drive speakers (4ohm) directly.  ccr800 has no amp, thus needs to go through bose amp (has to be bose due to odd levels), and then on to 2ohm spekaers.

So as a minimum to fit Bose from a CCR600 unit in place you would need CCR800 head unit...Bose door speakers...amp and loom from drivers footwell to run amp??

And shelf sub speakers and shelf (saloon) or sub unit (estate).  If facelift, loom from hu to kick panel

Hmmm, possibly not, or at least not for long - I suspect the amp would shut down...
