Anyone come across this before ?
Driving home from Warrington earlier. about 15 miles, a warning popped up in the display "headlamp range" several times which disappeared when I clicked "OK", only to come back 5-10 mins later. Dip beams were in use at the time, the car is an '01 3.0ltr Elite with xenon lights, so obviously no manual headlamp range adjustment. :-?

Sounds as if the level sensor may have popped off the front n/s wishbone.

Cheers for that, will have a dekko tomorrow in the daylight. :y

If it has, it probably will again, sometimes can be held in place by packing with grease and a tie-wrap.

If its not the sensor look at the lifting motors behind headlights.

It would appear that the o/s headlamp motor has gone on holiday, its making all sorts of noises but doing nowt, and the beam has dropped compared to the n/s one. Does anyone know if the lifter motors are the same on xenon and tungsten bulb lamps ?

Sods law applies, I've got a couple of non xenon ones somewhere. Looks like hunt-the-elite in the scrappies ;D

My headlamp range warning comes on now and then on my 3.2 Elite - it has supposedly been checked out by VX and nothing obvious so have ignored it for over a year. Comes on say once or twice on a journey. It has been like this for ages. i just cancel it. Today it seemed to come on a couple of times when I used the windscreen washers

See Kevin Wood, find the reasoning for it coming on, and then it gives you something to work to. He'll also exercise the servos over full range, stop them from getting sticky areas.
