My Omega V6 manual estate (year 2000) speedo, ABS & TC has stopped working. It has been working on & off for last few months.
What needs replacing & any recommendations of where to find a cheap replacement Many Thanks

Likely the ABS ECU needs repair. The repair is normally around £125 from BBA, but removal and refitting is 'challenging' ;D

How do I find BBA I am not a mechanic so should I take the car to my local Garage or is there a specialist out there I live in West Sussex

You will need to remove ecu, send to them, and refit on return. To pay labour charges for this to be done will make it a very expensive job :(

Deffo abs ecu kaput.
Plenty have changed them incl myself. Job is only difficult due tro lack of space and the need for patience! Search for abs ecu on here - there are plenty of threads to assist - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152729807
I only removed top radiator hose - bit of a struugle but managed.

2.5 or 3.0?? You will need to remove the ABS/TC ecu to get the part number anyway but most likely will end in 206 I think...
If it does and its a 2.5 then I have one here from a 99 2.5 estate I got on Friday last week...
Removal is simply a matter of undoing the 6 20mm torx bolts that holds the ECU in place, but its tricky to get the socket in there...removal of some parts is just a matter of aiding access to the bolts...
Do it yourself, its not hard, just fiddly...and will save you a LOT of money in labour charges...for a mechanic or if you have done the job before it shouldnt take more than 2 hours, probably less but they will charge you for a lot more...if you werent so far away I would do the job for you :)

20mm are big bolts!
It seems I have to take it out to find the serial number in order to order a replacement.
Would the one you have out a 99 2.5 estate have the same serial number? ( mine is a 2000 2.5 manual estate)

If its the same part number and engine size (and it is the same engine size) then yes it will be fine...being a 2000 I'm not 100%, if itsnot a facelift then it will most likely be same part number...if its a facelift then it may well be the same but not 100% sure if they changed on facelifts or not, or if they did then when...
If you look to the passengers side of the engine bay, to the right of the engine you will see the ABS/TC pump (the one with the metal brake pipes running out of it...on the front of the metal pump is a black plastic box which is the ECU for it...
Very small bolts size 20 torx bit (sorry not 20mm lol)
You can see the top 2 torx bolts the others are in recesses 2 half way down and 2 at the bottom (the middle and bottom ones are the tricky ones to get a socket on to and turning!)
Really is just a matter of undoing the 6 bolts and unclipping the connector at the bottom, very easy to do in principle, just access thats a total PITA! ;D
Car will still run with unit off the car (as long as you put all the bits back together than you unplug to get access of course lol)
