Title: Alarm Query
Post by: Bazza66 on 30 January 2009, 00:19:28
Hi all,
Apologies if this has already been covered, but I have been searching through and have been unable to find anything related.
The issue I have on my facelift (02) CD Miggy 2.6 is that on occassion when I switch off the ignition, I sometimes get three audible beeps that see to be coming from the alarm.
I thought at first that I was accidently pressing one of the buttons on the key fob as I withdrew it from the ignition, however I have checked and this isn't the case.
Does anyone have any idea what the cause of this may be? Is it an early warning perhaps of something going wrong electrically?
Many thanks for any assitance :)

Sounds like batteries in the power sounder on the way out. Have a read here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1220198611 :y

In case I have problems sourcing replacement batteries and decide to disconnect PS, will this stop the main alarm from operating or just the alarm when someone attempts to disconnect the battery to stop the main alarm?
I guess what I need to know is the impact of disconnecting the PS permanently and how that affects the general alarm

Only impact of disconnecting the power sounder is that the alarm can be silenced by disconnecting the car's main battery.

I would get it disconnected as it's not unheard of for them to drain the battery or even short out and burn the wiring out when they fail.
