Can any of you electronic technic guys please help? I suspect the cd laser requires a clean as it is beginning to have an occasional slight woolliness, and very mild stutter,is there a cd cleaner kit that goes in the magazine? surely theres some means of maintenance.Seem to remember some talk involving cotton wool buds.Would appreciate some guidence as I will miss the hi fi quality of the Bose sound system :'( :o :y

If you are unsure about how to clean with a cotton bud and need to ask, then I would suggest not to try this method as much damage can be cused if done incorrectly, but instead to purchase one of the CD cleaning discs that are readily available.
Chances are though, that the laser is probably on its way out.

I would have to agree that its far more likely to be a failing laser rather than dirty...
Currently, it seems nobody is able to find replacement laser module for the changer part of these.

Heck that's not good, still would like to try a cleaning disc,is there any make or type best? In view of it haveing to work from inside a magazine.I suspect this problem could be caused by me buying 8 used magazines off fleabay to put my cd's into groups. On close inspection today one would appear to be slightly dusty internally. I have given all the magazines a good air blowout and if you think it ok I can give the cd multiplayer a gentle vac through the magazine gate, would help to know the location of the laser, thanks and best regards. :-[ :-/ :y

Most discs have a small brush attatched, and the idea is to brush the lens as it spins -
Often results in knocking 7 bells out of the laser, but as its a last resort anyway, it is the type I would look for. Local car boot / market stall for around 99p
Avoid anything that suggests the use of liquids or chemicals.
