Just wondering, the MID display on my CCRT700 sets its time and date automatically via the radio. I can't make it do manual input at all.
Is it a Tech2 job to enable manual time input if there is an aftermarket radio or no radio fitted? I've tried doing it with the CCRT removed, but it won't allow me to set the time...
Cheers :)

Press and hold the clock button as you would on older mids?

Tried, does nothing. Also tried manually bridging the connectors on the PCB of the display to rule out faulty buttons, again nothing :-/

Not sure... I just tested the switches on the dash and they aren't working... just removed the conductive pads, and there is very little resistance over them... wonder if they are goosed aswell...???

It is possible .... I did it in France a few years back. It changed back as soon as it found an English RDS signal on our return journey.

Well I'm going to get some conductive paint and try get these pads working... There is better conductivity between 2 of my own fingers than across one of those pads according to the multimeter...
Sort of fiddly little jobs which break out when you fit silver dash rings... bloody annoying! ;D

I don't think your radio has anything to do with the time ..... page 34 (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.reynolds983/Manuals/Omega2002Manual.pdf) :y
It's the same description as my prefacelift hand book.

You'll only get the clock set by the radio IF
1. The radio is RDS capable
2. Tuned to an RDS station
3. RDS has not been de-selected
RDS = Radio Data System

Dont forget PaulW has the CCRT700 which has a different MID to other radios (its half height, and semi CAN based).
I seem to recall something odd about clocks myself when I had one.

ahem from experiance IT IS possible to set the clock on the CCRT Display but requires some fiddling
i noticed that the donor car my CCRT display come from didnt even have the clock buttons on it!(99T Reg CDX) but the CCRT700 does use RDS Time
anyway you have got to do it when the ignition is off press and hold both buttons i have to press my'n bloody hard and eventually th date will flash and you can set the date & time
doesnt seem to work with the key in the ignition for some reason or when the display is actually on
