Can the beam pattern be adjusted on xenons even though they have auto levelers?
i feel the beam is too low really, particularly on one side

yes, but do it responsibly
-
of course, in fact, i was going to get the fellas at the garage to use the MOT beam box.
do you happen to know where the adjusters are? i had a quick look but couldnt find them

You sure your adjuster(s) are OK? :-/ They do break. One of my headlights was flapping in the breeze. :-? :y

cheers will have another look now, seeing as its dark and its in my head to do. adjusters are white yes?
and yeah, the adjusters are fine. the lights dont actually move up and down, no warnsing on the GID and both adjusters have their small arms in place

The electrickery gubbins are good, but they can't tell if the adjusters are u/s ;) ;)

outer manual adjuster for height :y this is the one that normally breaks due to the crappy black plastic they are made from...ps which side, drivers or passengers?
-
the passenger side is slightly lower but both are too low as well. didnt get a look last night, will have a nose this afternoon!
ps, go Brawn GP!!!

Because of a very sharp cutoff of light on HIDs they may initially seem low. What is full beam like height-wise, thats the give away :y

going from past cars i would have said it was quite low too.
my sisters cars just gone thru the MOT so ill park her car against the wall and mark her beam pattern on it...then match mine.
Northern irish MOT's are super strict so the beam should be spot on on hers

full beam should be ever so slightly upwards.

badly adjusted HIDs are a pet hate of mine...
-
My Dip Beam distance is naff on mine, and I noticed it was even with passengers in it one night.
Do the sensors on the suspension have any adjustment.

mine too mate, ive lifted them a little there earlier but it wasnt really dark enough to get a good idea if theyre right. il head out shortly

Drive up to a wall as close as you cna get and make a mark where th head light bright spot is on the edge of teh ebam pattern kick up.
Reverse the car back 2-3m + and then adjust the beam so the bright spot is about 2cm below the mark.
This is basicaly what the beam splitter at the garage does!
-
sorted.....im good at guessing it appears! and holy bright lights....i never realised just how good HID's are!
-
Anyone got a pic of the manual adjusters?
-
open the bonnet and across the top of the light there are 2 4mm allen key bolts. the outer one is the height adjustment
-
Ok will look into it this afternoon.
Thanks Miniator
