(THE ELITE) Just gone to use the cd in the car and pressed number # on keypad to load a different disc and it started to make an awful noise, as though something is grinding inside - needless to say I get cd error and cannot get the disc magazine to eject. Is it a breaked ncdc now or something simple to repair.
(THE CD) My cdr 2005 comes up with error cd, I'm assuming someone before me has been playing discs they shouldn't have been - is this another breaked cd player.
On both counts TIA

its quite common for the magazines/discs to jam on these. Solution is to remove Changer portion, pop the lid from CD Changer part, under a couple of small screws that have the bar over the magazine, then remove the 4 screws that hold the mag together, and get all the bits out.
it's likely the corner of mag may be damaged, and if the cd that jammed isn't cracked, I'd be surprised...

Just got the mag out, believe it or not the disc was not jammed. put it all back together without a disc in and its still making a noise. do i need to source a new cd changer part then.

Sounds that way. See the vertical board mounted along side changer mechanism - you need to use that, not the one in the replacement changer.
And if you're lobbing the old changer away, do so in my direction, handy to strip for spares ;)

Yup, though as previously said, you need to use your old vertical board, not the ccr one

Also keep a look out for CDC-3 on Ebay.
Have to say that a lot of CDC-3's and CCR2006's seem to have ridiculous buy it now or starting prices on Ebay.
