Struggling to fit my CD player in my Omega. There just isnt enough space and too many damn wires. I moved as much of it as I could out of the way but my radio still sticks out.
Ideas please. :D :o

Whithout actually seeing it its hard to say 1st i would mesure the depth your stereo then measure the depth where its going ....i had a similar problem .....there is sorta a void half way down were i tucked the wires ....theirs no easy way but with a little/lot of pi**ing about they DO usually fit
Good luck :y

Yep you ill struggle, tbh there is a nack of doing it, theres no real say so unless your attempted to cut stuff at rear.
TBH just play for a while and eventually it will go in! ;)
-
i know it will fit, but theres a lot of wires in there which i cant put in the voids without leaving my hands in there. ;D
how easy is it ro remove the glovebox? can i get access to the wiring from there?

Fairly easy and no ;D Get some long cable ties and trial fit it without the stereo attached to the wires. At the point you need to pull the wiring down attach a cable tie but don't cut it down, attach more as needed and feed out to whichever footwell is easier and use that to pull the wires as you fit the stereo. Then just tuck the excess cable tie in for next time you need to take it out :y

i read it a good few times and still dont understand what your saying. :-?
could you please explain it again - sorry :)

If there is one particular bit of wiring that needs pulling down to the right but you can't have your hand and the stereo in there. Figure out where you need to pull on the wire and put a long cable tie around that point. if it's not long enough add another cable tie to the end of that one and feed the free end to the drivers side footwell. Then when you're trying to push the stereo and pull the wire down you can! One hand on the stereo and the other pulling the extended cable tie in the drivers footwell. Make sense now? Just tuck the extra cable tie away just in case you ever have to re-fit the stereo. If you still don't get it I'll cancel your application for MENSA and I'll take you some photos :y

aha, understood.
i had a look earlier and it looks like im gonna have to remove a panel, yes? the bit just above the pedals looks like it'll come off easily enough.

Is this stereo issue just on prefacelift??
I'm planning to remove ccr2006 and put an aftermarket stereo in my facelift?
Also plan to put steering wheel adapter for the radio.
Anyone done this?

well i had a go today and i think you better cancel that MENSA application after all. i couldnt do it. :-[ its a bit better than before so im not bothered so long as i can get the radio working.
speaking of which, is this the radio antenna cable?

Yes, easily, yes that's the adapter. You can also get them with a few inches of coax between the male and female plugs, that makes it easier too :y

No problem on the facelift, I have an alpine head unit single din, it still is tight behind but does fit flush, you'll also need a new housing for the new head unit if single din you'll gain a little bit more space under the unit but not much :y
