Thanks for the reply Dave but surely I only require the code inputting correctly, which I seem incapable of doing at the moment . I was hoping that there may be a local vx mech.who could help me I am quite happy to pay someone for their expertise.

Right here goes:

You turn the radio off, then whilst holding the AS button in you turn the radio back on until you hear a beep.  THen you enter on button 1. your first part of the code
,say "6" by pressing that button 7 times. You then enter your second code number on button 2, then third code number on 3 and finally 4 using the same method to get your full code on.  The radio should then accept your code with it receiving all that is available! :D :D :D :y

If you are down to your last four attempts, you have the wrong code !!

But I think Dave he may not have been entering it in the right sequence......perhaps? ::) ::) ::)

I see where you are coming from, but if he has actually entered a code, he knows the correct sequence to begin with using the AS and IGN on, and you would need to confirm using the AS again. Because this has been done repeatedly, it does appear as though the wrong code is being entered. The fact that so many codes have been entered incorrectly make me certain that he knows how to enter it, but is convinced that he has the right number to begin with.
