Is the blind clicking or making any kind of noise?

Get someone to press the button while you "help it" up by hand.

Could be sticking and in need of lubrication.

There was a photo on the forum a while back showing the burnt insides of the relay that controls the blind, I believe it lives at the parcel shelf area somewhere.

Yes Andy, that was my control unit which is bolted to the blind itself...........

thanks all - the phantom gremlin was responsible. After 2 days of not working the blind started to work again.

I also have had another couple of days of the headlamp range warning light coming on on a few times per day. That has now stopped as well (car has had this occaisonal blip for last 4 years or so!!).

I will just continue to ignore these things I suppose. At least there is a lot of info on the blind maintenance which is very good stuff when it finally gives up ther ghost!!

Had a problem with mine  ,on the main gear or underneath on the same unit there is a slot which a screw runs in adjustable from the outside (opposite side to motor) mine binded as if gone past the stop piont.I asume these work on a high current change over when up or down is reached. The motor was a worm drive so not much of a chance to move blind buy pulling. If you open the gear box be very careful as it will be in tension by a spring and you could damage the gears if it lets go.
All okay now
