Hello! I own a 2.2 DTI 2001 Omega and I am in a bit of a dillema.
I've been away for the last month or so and it seems that my car's battery is completely dead. This wouldn't be a problem as I am aware of the electrical issues on the car and I always carry a recharge kit in the trunk. BUT as the connected battery is dead I can't even open the car much less open the trunk.
If I try opening manually with the key, it will only turn about 1/8 either side. The pin will rise for a bit but the door will not open. Even if I manage to get inside the car, is there any way to open the trunk?
For the record - the car is parked in such a way that I cannot go under it to connect another power source.
Thank you.

As said in the other similar thread .. the door SHOULD open with the key.. it will be very stiff to turn and the door pin will NOT rise ... so you might not know its worked .... turn the key slowly but very firmly and keep trying the handle all the time.
If you can't do the 12 v trick from underneath .. and as a 2001 I think you'll be a facelift with no boot key ....... I'm now stuck for further help :(
In desperation you could try a squirt of light oil into the lock before trying the key ???
Once inside you can open the trunk (boot) by dropping the back seat and reaching through to the manual release handle that is located on the boot lid...
The first photo here shows it well .. :)

Thank you for the advice!
I'll try to manualy open with the key first thing next morning. Yes, it is a facelift model. As long as I can open the hood , I can just call one of my friends to wire enough power to start the car.
Sorry for the duplicate thread but the other member's problem had a different cause so I thought that a new thread would be better :)
These electrical issues are soooo frustrating. Never had a single mechanical problem in 2+ years of use but the electrics are dropping like flies. Lost my front-right speakers for some reason, probably the cause of the battery drainage. Also the screen is going :(

We'll get it sorted :)
In the meantime ... put your location and car details in your profile .. saves being asked a zilion times .....
and by the way ... "Hello" and Welcome to OOF :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks! Err how do I fold/drop the back seat? :P I've never had to do this before.

Little button by the headrest post.. push that down to release the catch , seat folds forward .. :)

As others have said, the key will open it, it will just take some force.
To enter facelift boot without power, drop back seats - pull down centre armrest, rotate knob, and drop centre panel. Then lower each backrest by depressing the large plastic button on the top edge of the backrest, and pull down. There is a pullcord on the bootlid on the inside to pop it open.
