Title: Double Din in Omega B?
Post by: themac1977 on 11 July 2009, 00:32:30
Anyone found a way of fitting a double din to a pre facelift?

Cheers,

Mac.

Hacksaw, chisel, lump hammer and pva glue

 ;D

And thats to cut the double sized stereo in half to make it fit the half sized hole. The reason we advise PVA glue is that if you are silly enough to even contemplate such a transplant, then you obviously cannot be trusted with superglue.

If, however you have the larger style stereo, CDR2005 or CCR2006 then a double din fascia adaptor is readily available.

I'm always one for experimenting when it comes to my Omega. My MV6 must have had every stereo ever supplied by Vauxhall at some point ;D

I was contemplating something similar myself, just for the heck of it, but it will be a huge job, poking in a facelift interior (and updating all wiring and sensors that the facelift ECC needs.  Even then, not convinced its possible.
