Title: cdr-500 display problem
Post by: 924boy on 14 July 2009, 16:43:57
Hey, just tried putting the cdr500 out of my mig in my mk3 astra and all works except nothing comes up on the display. Tried it back in the mig and definately works fine on that display. the original car300 back in the astra works the display fine... am i missing something obvious here or does the cdr500 just not work the astra disply fullstop?

Display Programming

There are two versions of Vauxhall vehicle displays, one with 8 Digits and one with 10 Digits. If you connect this stereo to the wrong display, code entry is possible, but the display will either freeze or dissappear once the code has been entered. To reprogram, Turn off the Radio, Press and Hold Presets "3" & "5" at the same time, whilst switching the radio back on, and this will toggle between the two display modes.

Which model CDR500 do you have? Delco, VDO, Siemens VDO, Grundig or Philips?

It may be that its a different set of buttons

2 & 4 are favourites also.

I've just tried this with SWMBO's Astra witha VDO CDR5000 and will toggle using buttons 3 & 5
Why doesn't it seem to make a difference to the screen between 8 and 10 digits?  :-/
