And if so arough idea as to how i would go about it and what i would need?
thank you.

yes
if you give us a clue as to whats in there now, and what age the car is, we can advice you more about which Vauxhall stereos can be made to fit
-
Hi sorry for the late reply.
the car is a 1997(r reg)
and currently has a car 400 sterio if that helps at all?
no cd changer.
And im afraid that is all i no.
thanks for your help

OK, prefacelift.
No prefacelift came with integrated satnav, some came with CARiN satnavs, with screen mounted next to radio.
It is possible to retrofit a NCDR1x00 to a prefacelift as I have - http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1223312555 (only now fitted with colour screen) - but some wiring mods are needed. To know what mods, need to know if yours is a 1997 model or 1998 model. Are your headrests solid, or are they the square ones with a hole through?
-
Note in the first pic of that thread I've linked to above, you can see the CARiN display
-
hi the head rests in the car are solid...not sure exactly what year the car is as the log book has not come back yet.
thanks
-
log book is back she is a 1997 model:)
-
CARiN is an easy ungrade, though the system is a bit old, and screen location far from ideal.
NCDR1x00 is possible to retrofit, but a few pitfalls you can fall down.
If you're near me, I can show you both systems in action

What about just a cd player up grade?
is there any cd players i can put in that will keep my screen working?
thanks again.

There are some cost effective interfaces out there to allow the use of Kenwood and Sony head units that have display output capability with your basic screen and steering controls if fitted.
Kenwood interface is around the £40 mark, and Sony can be double that.
There are a few others, but the interfaces can be prohibitively expensive.
