Good morning all.
I have a 2000 Elite 2.5 V6 Estate with a CCR 2006 head unit.
Despite a couple of niggles I'm very happy with the car - who wouldn't be! - but I have a question, and I apologise if it's already been answered but I couldn't find any info on the forum.
The car has a Vodafone ariel on the n/s/r window, and a lead that is tucked nicely into the glovebox. There's also a mic situated just above the mirror. Would I be right in assuming that this is an integrated phone system, and if so can I get an adaptor to fit my Nokia from somewhere? I have a bluetooth headset, but it would be nice to use an integrated system if it's there.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I dont think this the integrated system, it wouldn't use any visible wiring. I suspect that if you follow the wiring back you will find that it ends in a dead end as the car kit itself has been removed. Are there any signs of anything bein mounted on the dash or side of the centre console? e.g screw holes.
The integrated system only needed a SIM card plugging into it - nothing else.

No, definately no holes, and I can't trace the wire back without removing bits of dash.
I just wondered it there was a converter for my phone allowing me to plug it straight in.
Thanks.

No, the 2006 isn't an integrated system.
I suspect that you have the remnants of an early owners car kit with the cradle removed to make it look tidy. Was probably a company car to start with.
IMHO, your best option is to get a Parrot bluetooth kit which is (almost) plug & play and available for about £110 if you DIY, or about £160 if you have it installed. It will play through your existing speakers. Just be careful to make sure that when comparing prices to include the ISO adaptor cable. Also, make sure that you know the radio code BEFORE you start as the radio will need to have the code re-entered for all to work.

ccr2006 cannot directly control a phone.
Most Omegas are prewired for phones, but probably not relevent in this case as somebody has obviously been there before fitting aftermarket kits.
Particularly if you use bluetooth, get a carkit gauranteed to be compatible with your phone - there are an awful lot of 'gotchas' with bluetooth kits, particularly with nokia gear, and with echo cancellation (or lack of)

You also need to be careful with some LG phones.
SWMBO's LG phone didn't transfer the address boot to Parrot as my Nokia did.
An easy fix for her though - gave her an excuse to buy a new phone!

Contact transfer is a later bluetooth function that may or may not exist in some even fairly new phones.
No, my point was some phones paired to some handsfree car kits can not even do (usable) speech over it. Even some newish Nokias one a Nokia bluetooth kit.
I'm not singling out Nokia, all manufacturers suffer. From example, the crApple gayPhone can't be used with Nokia CK-7W carkit. Earlier HTCs (including rebadged O2 XDAs) can't be used with any carkit other than specific Parrot.
You need to make sure that the handset is listed as compatible with the kit before buying, thats the only way to guarantee it is usable.

Thank guys. That answers that question.
Incidentally - for those who use N-Series or compatible Nokias, there is software out there to allow you to connect to almost anthing. Nokia used to have a site call MOSH, which is now closed and merged with a thing called OVI. There was loads of stuff on there.
Cheers again.

LOL, I'm not in touch with my feminine side apparently, thus can't use a N series :P
