Ok first off, sorry if this has already been asked but i couldnt find a post on it (tho i do remember seeing one about it).
Ok so, me being a man of my music (and the base lines) im looking to put an aftermarket headunit and maybe even put in an amp for my subs (which i already have in instead of the 2 on the rear shelf)
Im guessing there is a lot of re-wiring to be done as and i dont really have a clue as to where to start.
has anyone got any ideas as to how i go about doing this?
like i said the main reason(s) for me doing this is because i like my base line and music, but also want to be able to hook my iphone to it with my music on (as the cd changer doesnt like "copied" CD's)

Its easy to put the head unit and sub and amp in.the head unit u just take out unclip the conneter block and the old head unit is is out.The only prob i had with putting a sub and amp in was getting the wires from it to the unit.I had to take the glove box out which is only 6 screws and its out.Will be abit tight getting the wires to the unit from the glove box but if u have small hands u will be fine

i have come across a bigger issue than that... as mine has its own small amp already tucked away behind the spare wheel... it uses the same connectors as used at the fron for the headunit... i hav a feeling all the components (headunit, amp and 6 disc changer) are all connected >_<
any further thoughts?

haha yeh thought of that one as a last resort, was hoping there was a more... less destructive way of doing it :P

Nope - amp in an Omega is about as bad as it gets if you want to upgrade the system. You really do have to rip everything out and start again

and how much of a pain in the ass is that? (or do i dare not ask)
lol all i want is a headunit that doesnt keep randomly cutting out and a lil bit more base from the subs

if anyone knows of a guide on a good way to remove the standard system and wire in a new one that would be very helpful.
makes me question my love for music at times :-/

help would be great on this as i can see this being more than a 1 day job >_< lol.
ima look into to it a bit further first though... see if there is a guide anywhere... might even give me an excuse to buy a Hayens

u can rip the old lot out and new stuff back in within a day.that would prob only take me 3 hours or so to do

oh... i thought it would be a case of having to take the dash out etc (thats what i was told needed to be done to install a Bose system)
but yeh, someone who knows about these cars would be good help to have as i still dont know much on them yet.

No, BOSE removal is not really rocket science, its more a pain in the arse having to do it. The speakers are all 2 Ohms, so all have to be removed as not compatable with teh new stereo, and the amp has to be bypassed with some wiring - again, not rocket science, but made more labour intensive than a simple change of head unit should have been
