Hi, trying to put elite cloth seats into my cd estate.
Pass side works, just connected and all is good.
Just pluged in drivers seat and nothing works.
The new seat has all the correct conectors, including the connectors to the car loom .
1. With the seat just plugged in should there be any response, without adding the extra power to the memory unit.
2. To add power to the memory unit, can I just tap into the loom on the drivers side or do you have run new power from the battery (to fuse box, etc)
I have a copy of the wiring in the memory unit - I just exspected some response from the seat without any extra changes am I incorrect?
I've put the old seat back in for now while I looks for the answers.
Thanks in advance
Rob

Hi Mate try this guide
http://images.omegaowners.com/images/faq/seats/elite_seat.pdf
and remember
Pins 1, 3 and 4 are live and pins 2 & 5 are negative. Using the existing wiring from the car, to the seats, connect live to pins 1,3,5 and your negative to pins 2 and 5. Hope that makes sense to you.

Erm - is that a new form of dual voltage on pin 5 then?

Hi, many thanks - the quide I've now printed and got the correct pin layout. I'll take the current feed to the power and earth and run some branches off it to the other pins (I'll solder them while the seat is off) - thanks just wanted to double check that was all. Many thanks .. May the oof be with you

Hi, yes checked with vx after looking up in the parts guide - m8 x 38 (I think) - vx said don't know, after showing them in the parts guide which ones - said had to be factory order - two weeks. I got some 8x40 from homebase instead - works fine and they don't catch in the runners. Regards.

Are these bolts used to restrain the seat in the event of an accident?
If so then as the seat belt catch is attached to the seat they are considered to be part of the seat belt mountings.
The difference in strength between mild steel and the different grades of high tensile steel is astonishing. If the Homebase ones are mild steel then you may as well use liquorice :o
