Title: bose problem

want to change my stereo in my new car for a custom install,it has the bose setup already and have read on here that it will not work with an aftermaket stereo,does anyone know why and how does it work?is there a seperate amp if so where is it and can it be rewired for a new iso stereo?im pretty good with electrics but need to know if im waisting time with the bose or should i rewire from scratch?

the bose amp uses non std signal levels.  its under parcel shelf on saloons, and right boot cubby hole on estates

sweet!will have a good look,not seen an amp but might have missed it,i am presuming it has bose by the subs in the rear shelf?

saloon then? amp in plastic tray bolted underneath parcel shelf. unfortunately to remove this tray, need to remove parcel shelf :(

i believe you will also have to cahenge the speakers if you do hav bose.

an aftermarket stereo will work with bose mine does i changed mine for a kenwood dvd sat nav tv jobby you can buy the iso connector to plug and play as one or two of the wires are different to feed the amp bit like a remote lead

I know only what others have said here .... Bose speakers are apparently only 2 ohms and so after market head units will soon damage them. :-/
