Title: starting/non starting

Hi, i have a 2001 2.6, recently sometimes it starts sometimes it does n't, tried yesterday with the spare key and it started.  Alright all day today, went to start it this evening with the spare key and then the normal key but no joy with either.  Battery is in excellent condition.  Any ideas, thanks

Do a pedal trick code read .... you may well have a crank sensor on the way out .. easy enough to change
