Title: CDR500 what multi changer?
Post by: Ken L on 28 September 2009, 19:17:48
I've just replaced the car400 with a CDR500 single cd player and I think it has CD changer ability, if so, does anyone know what changer is compatable with it please?.
Also, when we came to swap units, there is a set of wires with multi pin connectors similar to the ones for the radio back there, does anyone know what these are for please?

I don't think the 500 has changer control and the extra wires are probably for steering wheel controls.

Yeah, Thanks guys, We fittied the radio outside the guys house I bought it from at night, so I forgot to check if it had changer controls, I had seen a couple for sale on ebay that said they did, but I didn't recall seeing a connection.
The steering wheel connections are are all ok connected and working, these other wires are something else, it's like there are two sets of radio connections.

The 500 also has a phone "input" pair and phone mute, so that would explain 3 of the extra wires.

Most cars are fully wired for changers, even if not fitted, so any length of loom will have all wires.  Also, it may or may not have a Traffic Master loom :)
