Title: OP COM, Tech 2, MID ???
Post by: I_want_an_Omega on 21 October 2009, 21:09:44
OP COM seems to offer a capability to look at the TID/MID. Does it have the capability to change the codes or is this something that can only be done with TECH2?

Thanks ,,,,,,,,,

As far as I know, it cann't program MIDs (no programming on TIDs).  Even if it could, I wouldn't, as "My Naff Code Reader"s track record on programming is pretty bad - I've seen the aftermath of its attempts on keys and radios.

I`ve got to agree with TB here -
"My Naff Code Reader" has its uses, but I wouldn`t trust it for programming

Last time I tried "My Naff Code Reader" couldn't talk to mid or radio in mine.

I got mine to work have to change year, mine 95 changed it to 98 for the mid, then got info form vauxhall as to what the codes words are, and matched them up for engine code and ecu ( standard code), that was for a 92 mid that i picked up, as auto box came up all time, now dont get that and av speed is right now. if you have dif tyers, dif size from one that came with model when was new, then it will be out a bit, there is a place on net that will set it up for you but cannot remember the site.

Blimey, that must be worth a fortune seeing as they weren't released until 1994 ;)

Early MID codes http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1167400262

Later MID codes I haven't posted yet as more involved, and those with ability to program properly will have the info anyway.

Thought Omega was the first to get MID, followed by Vectra-B and Astra-G

01/01/1992 is the default date when first powered on :)
