Someone somewhere must be able to help me. Sun roof was working Ok before battery disconnected. I have tried the usual reset logic using sun roof switch, even cleaning the internal disk in logic board and finally replacing the complete Sun roof motor and logic board with a replacement unit ( a working one !).
Despite all this....The sunroof will not tilt or slide open.
Is there something obvious I'm missing ? I do see some very small movement and hear some attempted whirring noise from the motor unit but sadly no actual activity with the roof.
I know winter is approaching but it would be nice occasionally to see the blue sky :-). Hopefully some clues please and explanation...many thanks

Hi,
If you get really stuck then I've got a spare sunroof mechanism thats of no use to me as my car dosn't have one.
PM me if interested ......

Most sunroofs have a manual override using a spanner or allen key.
Might be worth trying this to identify whether you have an electrical or mechanical fault
:-/

have u disconeted the battery properly, as there is a logic board inside the dash on some omega's, if you have a tec2 can see if it is still working,

Omega sunroof ecu needs reseting.relearning after batt discon.
move switch to fully open, then press and hold sunroof switch. Then move to close, and press and hold, then to full tilt, press and hold, then close again, press and hold.
Windows too will need resetting

Every time I have had to reset my sunroof I just have the switch in the closed position and push and hold it up for approx 10 seconds .
Never had to put it to fully open or closed position ;)

????? I'm thinking you're losing the plot slowly ..... :-/
I don't see that has anything to do with the sun roof ???

trying to get my head around this not having an Omega . . .
After the battery has been disconnected, the sunroof needs to be reset (understood) and this is done by pressing the switch in determined positions for a determined time (understood)
but the bit I struggle with is that the original post said that the rood did not work / open / close - does this mean that the sunrood ecu will not actually move the roof until its reset, and you are not actually resetting the physical position of the roof?

As far as I know Dave, No the sunroof wont even attempt to move untill the ECU has reset itself by holding the sunroof button in. :)

the sun roof will still move if not set but if the unit fails you have to press the button all the time, have you checked that there is power going to the plug on the board, use a meter and see, on mine ther is 8 wires as there is a board in dash board but m8's has 4 wires, some work on the locking so when the car is locked the sun roof and windows close at same time, and some if the sun roof is open with flap up the flap closes to less than an inch when you lock doors, but see if there is power. :y

Correct - sunroof won't do anything until it has relearned endpoints and roof resistance
