Title: Alarm problems
Post by: deltaman on 12 November 2009, 13:00:31
Can anyone help please, the alarm on my car goes off a short time after I lock the car, last night it went off at 2am, the neighbours were not amused, could it be the key needs synchronising, any help will be appreciated.

it sounds like the classic bonnet swicth slightly bent issue.

just unplug the bonnet sensor for a bit, will prove its that...

you can then work on bending it upwards for a better fit.

its a plunger switch, that often gets bent down over time to the point it causes the alarm to go off.

Thanks for that jimbob I will give it a go, can the alarm be turnrd off at all, we go on car ferries and they always ask for alarms to be turned off in case of rough weather.

you can easily disable ultrasonics by using dash button

to lock without alarming, leave the car passenger side, and lock all doors using push button on door.

all doors locked, but not alarmed  :y  no easy way though sorry.

Thanks for that Jimbob, saves a red face when asked to report to the garage decks.
